The Rockies Impact Fund (RIF) aims to invest in companies with environmental, social or economic development impact in the equities of seed and early stage companies which have high potential for value appreciation and a clear path to a successful investor exit, thus resulting in above average returns compared to other impact funds.
The fund has a relationship with the Rockies Venture Club, the longest running and one of the most active angel investing groups in the U.S. This provides RIF with a significant regional deal-flow and co-investment opportunities.
Environmental impact may include water, energy, recycle/reuse/reduce, cleanup, and other companies that have positive environmental impact.
Social impact companies may include health, community, agriculture technologies, education, and other investments with positive measurable social outcomes.
Economic development investments specifically target investments that present extraordinary leverage in building communities, jobs and infrastructure. These may include investments in University Technology Transfer projects or State economic development initiatives and such as Colorado OEDIT (State Economic Development) Advanced Industries Accelerator Grant Program recipients; providing one source of matching funds for recipients.
